The foot valve is a check valve and is installed in connection with the strainer, the so-called foot of the suction line. After switching off the pump or teh domestic waterwork the check valve prevents the draining of the suction line.
Installation Note:
The foot valve must be in a sufficient distance from the bottom of the pump sump (so that no sludge is drawn) as well as from the lowest water level (so that no air is sucked).
